attachment point on the awning rail
Now for the fix. First, slide the awning off of the metal rail, (the part with the three telescoping legs that touch the ground). You will then have a big floppy awning that is very easy to carry around. Next, remove what left of the plastic bead that attaches to the track on the roof of the PopUp, take that with you. If you want or need your awning for this camping season, take it to a sail maker loft, or an upholstery shop nearby and have it done in a day or two. If you really don need the awning anytime soon, your Coleman dealer can return it to the Coleman factory for repair. However, this can be a pain!! If you call the Coleman Factory, (FTCA) customer service you can make arrangements for your awning to be repaired by them. You must get the names of the people you speak with at the Coleman Factory, and their direct telephone numbers so that your local service department manager can speak with them to collaborate your “story”. Many Coleman dealership service departments act like this service from the factory does not exist, they would rather sell Toms Shoes you a new bag, an awning, or the complete assembly! This service has actually been available as long as Coleman/Fleetwood has offered bag awnings for sale. ” End of answer on Woodalls:My failure is also of the thread that holds the bag to the plastic bead. I will take the awning to a local shop that does canvas boat covers and convertables where they can resow it.
