Round two of Kanye West and Taylor Swift’s year long feud surfaced Sunday night, as the two performers took to the stage separately at the MTV Video Music Awards to perform their own personal songs reflecting on last year’s stage crashing debacle.

Up first was 20 year old Swift, whose set began with video clips of last year’s infamous onstage dis by West. With the controversial rapper nowhere in sight, Swift debuted her new, untitled single without any interruptions. Though West is never named in the song, the singer gave an emotional performance that made obvious references to the rapper.

“Some things you can’t speak of, but tonight you live it all again,” she sang. “It’s all right, just wait and see. Your string of lights is still bright to me. You’re still an innocent.”

When the song ended, the singer was met with a standing ovation from the celebrity packed audience.

West, on the other hand, got in the last word or at least lyric as he closed the show with his unreleased song, “Runaway.”

Wearing a blinding red suit and matching sneakers, the rapper began his performance while standing solo at a synthesizer.

“You’ve been putting up with my s for way too long,” he rapped, as he was joined on stage by ballet dancers.

“Let’s have a toast for the d bags. Let’s have a toast for the a holes,” he continued. “Let’s ha Toms Outlet Online ve a toast for the s bags. Let’s have a toast for the jerk s. Baby, I got a plan. Runaway fast as you can.”

The 33 year old rapper’s powerful comeback performance at the VMAs appeared to have earned him the redemption he was looking for the cheering crowd began to loudly chant his name after he finished the song.

Just last week, West took to Twitter to again offer his apologies to Swift for his rude behavior when he rushed the stage and interrupted her acceptance speech during last year’s MTV award show.

“She deserves the apology more than anyone,” he wrote Sept. 4.

“I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful and I want her to have it,” he went on. “If she won’t take it then I’ll perform it for her.”

It is unknown whether “Runaways” was the song West intended for Swift to sing, however it seems unlikely the country crooner would be up for belting out a tune about “d bags.”
